ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) – The Chemung County Health Department is offering an opportunity for adults in the area to receive a free flu shot to protect themselves during the flu season.
The vaccine clinic will be held on Saturday, Nov. 1, at the LECOM Event Center’s Williams Toyota Turf Field from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The clinic will be offered at LECOM’s first-ever Southern Tier Healthcare Expo, which will provide a range of free services for area residents to take advantage of.

The vaccine clinic is free and open to adults aged 18 years or older only. Those who would like to have their child vaccinated for the flu are encouraged to contact the Chemung County Public Health Office at 607-737-2488 for assistance.
Before arriving at the clinic, attendees are encouraged to have a meal and drink plenty of water. Attendees are also encouraged to wear clothing with short sleeves or sleeves that can easily be rolled up, as the vaccine will be administered to the patient’s upper right or left arm.

Upon arriving at the event, attendees are advised to enter the LECOM Event Center through the West Gray Street side sliding doors. Once inside the building, the clinic will be in place at the right on the turf field.
Pre-registration for the clinic is recommended, but not required. Those who attend the clinic will not be required to provide insurance information, but are asked to bring their photo ID. Appointments for the clinic can be scheduled online.
