Rajasthan’s contributions will lend a major push to the country’s 500 GW renewable energy target by 2030.Avaada Group has stepped up its clean energy expansion with the launch of large-scale solar and storage projects in Rajasthan.
Last week, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for Avaada’s 1,560 MW peak solar project and a 2,500 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at Pugal in Bikaner and also inaugurated a 200 MW (282 MW peak) solar project at Sri Dungargarh.
The projects, with a combined investment of over ₹9,200 crore, will generate thousands of jobs and strengthen grid stability. Avaada chairman Vineet Mittal said the developments were “an investment in India’s green future,” adding that Rajasthan remains central to the company’s growth strategy.
Avaada already operates 2.2 GW of renewable capacity in the state and nearly 5.7 GW peak nationwide. The latest projects will further boost the state’s position as a solar hub in the country while cementing Avaada’s role as a leading player in the country’s energy transition.
Rajasthan currently has the largest pipeline of solar projects in India, with multiple ultra-mega solar parks and private sector investments underway across Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, and Barmer. Rajasthan’s contributions will lend a major push to the country’s 500 GW renewable energy target by 2030.
To complement these solar installations, the PM also laid the foundation for a major transmission project designed to evacuate renewable power from Rajasthan to the national grid.
