BOARDMAN, Ohio – Angel Care Medical LLC, a provider of durable medical equipment rentals to the post-acute care industry, broke ground Wednesday on a new $2 million warehouse and office facility at 8500 Crossroads Drive.
Serving as a hub for Angel Care Medical’s operations, the 15,000-square-foot facility will allow the business to expand into the region and surrounding states, according to Dan Halas, president of Angel Care Medical.
“This will be our main hub for the organization,” Halas said. “We currently have offices in Cleveland, Ohio, and also in Columbus, and our goal is to be expanding into multiple states. With this new hub, that’s going to allow for our continued growth.”
Halas said the selection of the site was intentional due to new infrastructure currently being added on Western Reserve Road and the proximity to Interstate 680 and the turnpike.
Angel Care Medical offers a wide variety of medical equipment and services for the providers of people requiring long-term nursing care, hospice and at-home care.
Halas said when a patient or skilled nursing facility needs equipment, it can be at any time, and the proximity to highways allows for a quick response. The equipment provided by the company includes a variety of medical beds, respiratory and oxygen equipment, lift chairs, wheelchairs, wound care treatment and compressors and pumps.
“This new facility marks a significant milestone in our commitment to the community,” Halas said. “The new space will allow us to expand our inventory, streamline our services and better support our partners and patients with the prompt, professional care they deserve.”
Founded in 2001, Angel Care Medical rents, sells and services equipment. The business touts a focus on quality products and professional, timely service.
In addition to warehouse space, the new facility will include a training center on the second floor that will provide continuing education for Angel Care’s respiratory therapists and staff. Angel Care is governed by the board of pharmacy for the oxygen equipment it provides, and continuing education is a necessity.
Halas credited Angel Care’s partners in the building process for the new venture, including WesBanco, the financier of the project; Boggs Construction, the general contractor; and Olsavsky Jaminet architects.
“On behalf of Boardman Township, we’d like to thank and welcome Angel Care Medical for expanding in our community,” Trustee Tom Costello said. “[The company’s] growth is just unbelievable. … We absolutely wish you the best and want to continue to work with you as you grow.”
Angel Care invested $350,000 in the property.
“We see this as an investment, not only an investment in our future as Angel Care Medical, but the future of health care in the Mahoning Valley,” Halas said.
