Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) has released its fifth annual Field Tech Report, outlining how field technology is reshaping jobsites and advancing the next phase of innovation in the construction industry.

The 2025 report focuses on the tools and digital solutions transforming field operations, including drones, robotics, laser scanning and jobsite security systems. According to ABC, these technologies are helping contractors plan, monitor and execute work more efficiently while improving safety and productivity.

“Field technology is driving the next stage of progress in construction,” said Matt Abeles, ABC’s vice president of construction technology and innovation. “These solutions empower the people who build our infrastructure and redefine how contractors operate on the jobsite.”

Patrick Irwin, chair of ABC’s Construction Technology and Innovation Committee and chief operating officer at Leonard S. Fiore Inc., said companies that invest in connected systems will be better positioned to deliver safer projects and maintain competitiveness.

“Our industry continues to face challenges from workforce shortages to economic uncertainty,” Irwin said. “Technology and innovation remain central to how we adapt and thrive.”

The 2025 ABC Field Tech Report includes insights from ABC’s Tech Alliance members and Dodge Construction Network, as well as an executive summary from strategic partner Milwaukee Tool.

The report was produced by ABC’s National Construction Technology and Innovation Committee and supported by the organization’s 2025-2026 Tech Alliance, which includes companies such as Arcoro, Autodesk, BuildOps, Datagrid, Egnyte, Sage, Trimble and others.

ABC members received a print edition of the report with the September/October issue of Construction Executive. The digital version and video overview are available here.
