Amcor has introduced AmSecure, a next-generation packaging solution for the healthcare industry, as part of its HealthCare portfolio.
AmSecure is a proprietary amorphous polyethylene terephthalate (APET)-based material designed for thermoformed trays and rollstock in medical and pharmaceutical applications.

The APET formulation delivers comparable performance to polyethylene terephthalate glycol (PETG) while maintaining clarity, durability and compatibility with standard sterilisation methods.
AmSecure is less expensive than other materials while offering comparable performance and improved supply chain efficiencies.
The product was designed to accept numerous raw material supply options with multiple qualified raw materials, providing supply chain continuity.
AmSecure is certified to meet or exceed the voluntary requirements for Design for Recyclability Recognition from the Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR).
The launch follows an expansion of thermoforming capacity at Amcor’s Oshkosh, Wisconsin, facility, which delivers scaleable production to meet growing market demand.
AmSecure will be supported by a range of compatible lids and pouches.
Art Castro, vice-president of Amcor flexibles healthcare in North America, stated: “AmSecure represents a significant advancement in healthcare packaging by delivering APET-based thermoformed solutions that match the mechanical and visual performance of PETG, while offering cost efficiency and a path towards recyclability.
“The Amcor solution meets the critical needs of customers without compromising production and line performance.”
Amcor recently appointed Stephen Scherger as its executive vice-president and chief financial officer (CFO), with effect from 10 November 2025.
Scherger will take over from Michael Casamento, who is stepping down after ten years as CFO to move back to Australia.
In September, Greenback Recycling Technologies initiated the first UK deployment of its Enval advanced recycling module at the Amcor packaging facility in Heanor.
