U. SAUCON TWP., Pa. – Citing rising costs and a contracting market for non-digital publishing, a third-generation, family-run business is bidding farewell in Lehigh County.

Coopersburg area manufacturer Chernay Printing, Inc., a full-service web sheet and digital commercial printer at 7483 S. Main St. in Upper Saucon Township, has announced the retirement of the business after almost 60 years in the industry.

Founded by Paul Chernay in 1966, Chernay Printing grew to be one of the largest offset printing companies in the mid-Atlantic region, serving clients across the country and abroad.

It remained a family-owned and family-oriented business throughout the decades, with third-generation leadership and numerous long-tenured employees.

“Rising costs and a rapidly contracting market for non digital publishing have forced the closure of a number of print related businesses in both the production and publishing sectors,” Board Chair Laura Ward said in a news release. “Sadly, our Coopersburg facility has become one of those casualties.”

Chernay Printing, Inc. will carry on operations until current orders are fully satisfied.

Any questions may be directed to CEO Lisa Arnold at 610-282-3774.

“It has been a privilege for my family to operate our business in this community,” Arnold said in the release. “We are immensely grateful to our longstanding and loyal customers for their decades of support, entrusting their printing needs to the hardworking employees of Chernay Printing.”
