Recently, BYD’s DM technology, recognized for its pioneering strength and benchmark status in the hybrid field, has been included in Tsinghua University’s automotive engineering textbook and featured on the cover. Notably, BYD’s DM technology has been incorporated into Tsinghua University textbooks twice: the 2021 edition of “Principles of Automotive Power Systems” and the 2025 edition of “Automotive Structure – Power Systems,” becoming an important reference case for automotive education in universities.

In 2021, BYD released its fourth-generation DM technology, which gained high recognition from the market and the industry due to its innovative features such as simplifying the engine, eliminating the transmission, and creating a hybrid architecture focused on electric power. This led to its inclusion in the essential textbook for professional courses, “Principles of Automotive Power Systems,” published by Tsinghua University, where it was also featured on the cover.

In 2024, BYD launched its fifth-generation DM technology, further enhancing core components and achieving a fuel consumption of 2.9L per 100 km in electric deficit mode, marking the advent of the “Fuel Consumption 2 Era.” It also innovatively applied AI large models and AI energy management strategies. By 2025, BYD continued to accelerate its pace of technological innovation, evolving the fifth-generation DM technology within just a year to achieve a new fuel consumption record of 2.6L per 100 km in electric deficit mode.

BYD’s DM technology has again been included in the 2025 edition of Tsinghua University’s “Automotive Structure – Power Systems” textbook and prominently featured on the cover, demonstrating the academic community’s recognition of the pioneering, leading, and highly representative nature of BYD’s DM technology. It can be said that BYD’s DM technology is a “required course” for Chinese automotive professionals. Moreover, BYD’s influence has extended to the field of basic education, appearing multiple times in primary and secondary school textbooks and exams, even in college entrance exams, providing students with vivid examples of cutting-edge automotive technology.

Meanwhile, BYD has shown impressive performance in the new energy vehicle market, consistently topping various sales charts. From January to June this year, BYD’s sales exceeded 2.14 million units, a year-on-year increase of 33%; among them, overseas sales of passenger vehicles and pickups surpassed 470,000 units, securing the title of global sales champion in the new energy vehicle market. This success is supported by robust technology, as BYD has heavily invested in R&D and focused on new energy technology for nearly 20 years, dominating recent patent authorization rankings in new energy, pure electric, and hybrid categories published by the China Automotive Technology and Research Center.

BYD’s achievement of triple dominance in market, technology, and academia not only reflects its impressive developmental results but also highlights the rapid rise of Chinese automotive companies, represented by BYD, in the new energy vehicle field through independent innovation, becoming a vivid embodiment of the rise of China’s new energy vehicle industry.返回搜狐,查看更多
